One Hot Day

When I wore this outfit yesterday, I didn't expect the weather to be so hot. All I could think of as I was walking was why didn't I wear shorts today? Anyways, looking at the pictures now, I think I pulled it together and didn't show how much the weather was really affecting me. I was probably glad to have a few minutes under a tree. However, this also gave me an idea to remix this silk blouse, maybe in a future blog post, to wear it with a pair of shorts and some cute sandals.

Spring Pastels

I've said it before, but I'm saying it again, mint green is THE spring pastel color. I love how this silk blouse complements this geometric necklace perfectly. And, it wouldn't be complete without a few arm candy to match the whole look. Although I wasn't able to get a full shot, I did manage to get someone to get a shot of these new cool accessories. Hope you guys enjoy it and feel inspired!

Mixing Prints

I've always loved weekends, but this time I can't even enjoy it. I just have too much work to do. I did try to have fun with my look of the day, hoping that it would cheer me up. Though you might be skeptic since I was not smiling in this picture, I actually did have fun. The "no smile" face was more for the drama of the shot.

This spring season, I've been seeing a lot of people try to mix prints and I wanted to show my own version of this trend. I chose a printed dress (well half of it) and a printed pair of shoes. I think both prints absolutely work together just as polka dots and stripes would match each other.

The trick is finding the right balance between the two prints. You never want to have an overwhelming amount of print. This will only make you seem as if the fabric swallowed you whole. Try playing with it by putting things against each other. If you want to ease into it but still look chic, maybe try a floral printed skirt with a stripes top. Above all else, don't forget to have fun.

Urban Jungle

Another week has flown by and I didn't even notice it. Sometimes, I think I take it for granted that I would have another day to do the things that I need to do. I know I admit it, "I'm a procrastinator." I always plan ahead, but never them until the very last minute. I'm actually in the middle of doing something, but this "rut," I'm in also inspired me to create this outfit.

I named this piece, "urban jungle," as a way to unleash all those doubts and fears. I am that animal who has to cope with the pressures of everyday life. Everyone has probably felt this way, one time or another, but I wanted to share with you my way of overcoming this. For me, it's about living a more creative life whether it's a hobby (e.g. painting or knitting) or expressing yourself through an outfit. In this look, I wore an animal printed button down shirt, paired it with a bright red lipstick and black gladiator sandals.
